AB Lebanese Restaurant is a new dine in lounge at the popular ‘Ali Baba’ located in the heritage Melbourne building in the heart of Canberra Civic. The new dine in lounge is a return to the company’s roots which began in 1979 as traditional Lebanese cuisine.

The challenge was to create a warm traditional dine in space suited to modern ways of dining, and appropriate to the diverse menu on offer.

The design process sought to find a balance between beautiful complex decorative motifs and simple material palate to create an intimate dine in experience.

We were required to work with and extremely tight budget, and the final outcome was a successful collaboration between the owner, the architects, and a skillful joiner.
